Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data IT Playbook collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to this policy.

Who we are

IT Playbook ("we", "us") is an online learning service operated by Sergey Okinchuk. You can reach us any time at support@itplaybook.org or via our Support page.

Data we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the service:

How we use it

We do not sell your personal data.

Service providers we share data with

We rely on a small number of trusted providers, who process data only on our behalf:

Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage that are essential to sign you in and remember your preferences — these are always on. With your consent, we also use analytics cookies for the product analytics and the advertising measurement described above; the first time you visit we ask, and you can decline. Declining keeps all essential functionality working — neither PostHog nor the Meta Pixel is loaded unless you accept. We do not sell your data.

Data retention

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain limited records (for example, transaction records) to meet legal and accounting obligations.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time: on this site at Delete your account, or in the iPhone and Android apps under Settings → Profile. You will be asked to sign in again first if your session is more than a few minutes old, because the deletion cannot be undone. It is immediate and permanent. It removes your progress, streak and flashcard schedule, any certificates issued to you and the links to them, your support messages, anything queued to be emailed to you, and the sign-in itself.

If a subscription is still able to bill you, cancel it first — deletion is refused while it can, so that you are never left paying for an account you can no longer sign in to. Payment records held by our payment processor are kept where the law requires it.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Many actions are available directly in Settings, and deletion has a page of its own; for anything else, email support@itplaybook.org and we'll help. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

International users

We operate from the United States, and your data may be processed there and in other countries where our providers operate. We take steps to protect it consistent with this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give you notice through the service.
